The Dean’s List utilizes a fine-tuned algorithm designed to analyze each university based on its woke activist culture, racial discrimination, and hostility towards conservative students on campus.

The algorithm encompasses 19 variables and assigns an academic grade of A-F based on quantitative and qualitative factors. Grades are listed in the “Report Card” of each university’s “School Profile” page and include:

What Will They Learn? Academic Score
- This score is derived from “What Will They Learn?” which takes into account composition, literature, foreign language, U.S. government/history, economics, mathematics, and science.

Average Salary of Recent Graduates
- This score is derived from “Payscale” (or other sources if not available) which tracks the salary of graduates with 0-5 years of experience.

Average Salary of Graduates Mid-Career
- This score is derived from “Payscale” (or other sources if not available) which tracks the salary of graduates with 10+ years of experience.

Percent of Graduates with Debt (Federal and Private)
- This score is derived from “The Institute for College Access and Success” (or other sources if not available) which tracks the percentage of graduates with debt from 2019-2020.

Average Debt of Graduates (Federal and Private)
- This score is derived from “The Institute for College Access and Success” (or other sources if not available) which tracks the amount of debt of graduates from 2019-2020.

Mandated Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Training for Staff
- This score is calculated based on the intensity or requirement of Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity training for university staff. If a university has either mandated training or the training is severely radical, the university receives an “F” grade. An “A” grade is assigned if the university does not offer any Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity training for its staff.

Bias Reporting System or Bias Response Team
- This score is derived from “Speech First” which tracks universities with either a Bias Reporting System or a Bias Response Team. An “F” grade is assigned to any university with a Bias Response Team. A “C” grade is assigned to any university with a Bias Reporting System. An “A” grade is assigned if the university does not have a Bias Reporting System or a Bias Response Team.

Ratio of Right-Leaning Clubs to Left-Leaning Clubs
- This score is calculated based on a pre-existing list of the country’s 10 most popular conservative campus clubs and the country’s 10 most popular liberal clubs. Once the clubs are identified, the ratio is implemented. If the university hosts a club on campus from the list, they are included in the ratio. If the university does not host a club on campus from the list, but a similar club exists on campus, that club replaces the one from the list.

Denied Turning Point USA Chapter
- This score is assigned to universities based on whether or not they have a Turning Point USA chapter on campus. The university is assigned an “F” grade if they banned a Turning Point USA chapter. The university is assigned a “C” grade if no Turning Point USA chapter exists. The university is assigned an “A” grade if they have an on-campus Turning Point USA chapter.

In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants
- This score is calculated based on the university’s policy of offering in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. The university is assigned an “F” grade if they allow in-state tuition in all cases. The university is assigned a “D” grade if they provide out-of-state tuition waivers under certain conditions. The university is assigned a “C” grade if they offer discounted out-of-state tuition rates to illegal immigrants. The university is assigned a “B” grade if they do not provide in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. The university is assigned an “A” grade if enrollment is restricted.

Amount of Foreign Funding Received
- This score is derived from “College Foreign Gift Reporting” which tracks foreign gifts provided to universities. Our score takes into account the total amount of foreign gifts a university has received, then divides the amount by the current undergraduate student population. The grades are assigned based on that value. Note that the Education Department has expressed that U.S. universities underreport foreign funding. The Dean’s List only takes into account foreign funding that has been reported.

Required Equity, Diversity, or Inclusion Courses for Students
- This score is calculated based on the intensity or requirement of Equity, Diversity, or Inclusion (EDI) courses for students. The university receives an “F” grade if at least one EDI course or EDI category of courses is mandated. The university receives an “A” grade if no mandatory EDI courses exist, or if it is overwhelmingly easy to bypass any such courses. The university is assigned a “B,” “C,” or “D” grade based on the feasibility to bypass any such courses.

Segregated Dormitories, Graduations, and Classes
- This score is calculated based on the prevalence of segregated dormitories or living facilities, graduations, and classes. The university receives an “F” grade if all three segregated spaces exist, plus an additional segregated space not listed. The university receives a “D” grade if all three segregated spaces exist. The university receives a “C” grade if two of three segregated spaces exist. The university receives a “B” grade if one of three segregated spaces exists. The university receives an “A” grade if none of the three segregated spaces exists. Please note that the score is calculated based on the number of categories of segregated spaces, not the total number of segregated spaces.

Protests and Canceling Speakers
- This score is calculated based on the amount and intensity of on-campus protests beginning in the 2021 school year. The university is assigned a numerical value based on the intensity of the situation. The university is assigned a score of 1 for any protest reported that lacks violent activity. The university is assigned a score of 2 for any protest that includes vandalism. The university is assigned a score of 3 for any protest that includes violence and/or the speech or attendance of the speaker is barred. The total amount is added, then divided by the student population.

Boycotting, Divesting, and Sanctioning Israel
- This score is calculated based on the amount and results of Student Government legislation designed to boycott, divest, and sanction the State of Israel (BDS). The university receives an “F” grade if Student Government has passed any BDS legislation since the 2013-14 school year. The university receives a “D” grade if Student Government has introduced two or more pieces of BDS legislation since the 2013-14 school year, but they were declined. The university receives a “C” grade if Student Government has introduced at least one piece of BDS legislation since the 2013-14 school year, but it was declined.

Mask and Vaccine Mandates
- This score is calculated based on the university’s rules on COVID-19 vaccinations and masks. The university receives an “F” grade if vaccines, or both vaccines and masks, are mandated. The university receives a “D” grade if masks are mandated, but not vaccines. The university receives a “C” grade if vaccines are strongly encouraged, but not mandated. The university receives a “B” grade if masks are strongly encouraged, but not mandated. The university receives an “A” grade if neither is required or encouraged.

Percent of Students Graduating with STEM Degrees
- This score is calculated based on the percentage of students graduating with Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) degrees. The total amount of STEM graduates from the 2019-20 school year is divided by the total student population.

Crime Rates in University City or Town
- This score is calculated based on violent crime rates in the university’s surrounding city or town. This data is from 2018 unless otherwise noted.

Required Western Civilization Courses
- This score is calculated based on the university’s General Education program. The university receives an “F” grade if its General Education program does not require any Western Civilization course or categories of courses. The university receives a “C” grade if its General Education program lists a required category that includes some Western Civilization courses. The university receives an “A” grade if its General Education program requires a Western Civilization course or category of courses.

After academic scores are assigned to each variable, they are consolidated into a final grade (A-F) for each university.

Please note that all final grades are assessed based on the minimum and maximum values calculated by our algorithm, with the minimum being an “F” and the maximum being an “A+.” All universities in between those two grades are within the minimum and maximum values, with a “C” grade being the average.
