High Point University receives a &#8220;C&#8221; grade for Required Equity, Diversity, or Inclusion Courses for Students. The <a href="https://issuu.com/highpointuniversity/docs/2022-2023-high-point-university-undergraduate-bull?fr=sODc0MTUyMDIxMTc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university</a> requires students to take four credit hours from the Diversity category. The Undergraduate Bulletin says:
&#8220;Courses in this area consider issues of human diversity to encourage students to explore the contours of difference and the dynamics of diversity, privilege, and oppression in domestic and global contexts. Building on standard models of multicultural competence that emphasize knowledge, awareness, and skills, students will be introduced to cultural humility, culturally specific approaches to practice, and frameworks for equity and empowerment.&#8221;
Courses in this category include:

<li>&#8220;Race and the Law&#8221;</li>
<li>&#8220;Native Americans and Europeans: Encounters in Early America&#8221; and</li>
<li>&#8220;Catch the Waves! 200 Years of American Feminism&#8221;</li>
</ul>
However, these courses can be bypassed for less biased options such as &#8220;American Bible,&#8221; &#8220;U.S. Civil War and Reconstruction,&#8221; and &#8220;Introduction to Sociology.&#8221;
